2.5.9. Use of an all-wheel drive modeDisconnect modes 4Н and 4LO at movement on roads with a dry firm covering.
If at movement on a dry firm covering the control lamp of the 4WD all-wheel drive mode (lights up see.), in the AUTO modes and 4Н it is necessary to translate the 4WD all-wheel drive mode switch in situation 2WD, in a 4LO mode movement is necessary to stop the head of System of cooling and heating, to switch AT in the situation "N" and after it to transfer the 4WD switch to situation 2WD — at the first possibility drive away the car on car repair shop for carrying out the corresponding diagnostics and performance of necessary regenerative repair.
4WD systems allow to choose by Polnorezhimnye one of four possible provisions of a transfer case (AUTO, 2WD, 4Н and 4LO). The choice of a mode is defined by road conditions.

Precautionary measures
- At a parking of the car do not forget to cock the parking brake before switching off of the engine and watch that the control lamp of 4WD was activated, and the lamp of ATR is extinguished, otherwise the car can spontaneously start moving even in spite of the fact that the lever of the selector is transferred to the situation "R"!
- Never make switchings between 4LO modes and 4Н during movement!
- Situation 4Н provides the increased traction effort and the best coupling with darling — try to move with speeds no more than 80 km/h!
- Situation 4LO provides the maximum traction effort and the best coupling with darling — try to move with speeds no more than 50 km/h!
- The 4WD switch can be transferred to provisions 2WD, AUTO and 4Н at rectilinear movement — do not try to make switching at movement by a backing or at commission of turns, it is equal as at abrupt descents / liftings with pro-slipping of back wheels!
- Movement in modes 4Н and 4LO on a dry firm covering is interfaced to appreciable increase of a noise background and is fraught with premature wear of protectors — pass to a 2WD or AUTO mode!
- Use of differential of limited sliding (LSD) provides to the car the increased passableness in cross-country conditions at the expense of increase in characteristics of coupling with the soil, however is interfaced to increase of level of vibrations and squeal of tires at movement on paved roads!
- At low temperatures there can be problems with switching of a transfer case between provisions 4Н and 4LO. The control lamp of situation 4LO can start to blink even the included all-wheel drive mode. Short run with small speed and without commission of maneuvers allows to carry out switching between provisions 4Н and 4LO!
Use of 4WD modes at movement in cross-country conditions
By means of the 4WD switch choose corresponding of all-wheel drive modes of a transfer case (AUTO, 4Н or 4LO).
Move slowly, sorazmery speed with road conditions.

In the situation AUTO change of distribution of a torque between lobbies and back driving wheels is made automatically depending on change of road conditions, the following ratio thus takes place: 0:100 (2WD)> 50:50 (4WD), allowing in an essential measure to increase stability of movement.
Switch use in the AUTO mode, 4Н or 4LO during turn commission, at acceleration / braking by the engine or switching off of ignition can cause breakthroughs that is norm and should not cause concern.
Transfer of the lever of the AT selector to the situation "N" or "R" at a car stop after commission of turn can lead to the easy twitching of the car connected with switching off of coupling of a transfer case.
Precautionary measures
- Do not make switching of a transfer case between 2WD, AUTO modes and 4Н during commission of turns, at movement by a backing or on an inclined surface!
- In order to avoid damage of internal components before transfer of a box to a mode 4Н from a 2WD or AUTO mode check, that speed of movement of the car did not exceed 80 km/h!
- At all do not make box switching between 4LO modes and 4Н during movement!
- Remember that at the cold engine its single turns are a little raised — observe extra care at movement on a slippery or loose covering with the included AUTO mode!
Light indicator of modes of a transfer case
At the started engine the indicator serves for the display of a mode of a transfer case chosen by means of the lever of the selector or the 4WD switch (see above).
Switching of modes can cause an indicator blinking, however on termination of a choice it should pass to a mode of a constant luminescence. If the indicator continues to blink after completion of switching, it is necessary to be passed a little forward with acceleration or a deseleratsiya, or to be passed by a backing, then to repeat procedure of switching of a mode of a transfer case.
Activation of a control lamp of 4WD (see below) should be accompanied by shutdown of the light indicator of modes of a transfer case.
Precautionary measures
- In cold weather the choice of the AUTO mode can be accompanied by the indication 4Н the light indicator (see the table of switchings of a transfer case provided above). Thus torque distribution between lobbies and back driving wheels of the car will correspond to a mode 4Н, is interfaced to risk of emergence of a phenomenon of sharp braking and difficulties at commission of turns! Later short time the indicator (and a transfer case) should be switched in the AUTO mode.
- If in cold weather the indicator shows situation 2WD at the chosen AUTO mode or 4Н, the probability of spontaneous switching of a box in a 2WD mode is not excluded. If after a while the situation is not corrected and the indicator will not start to issue the correct indication, the car should be driven away on car repair shop.

The overheat of transmission oil in a transfer case leads to operation of a control lamp in a flashing mode with frequency about two gleams in a second (see an illustration the Scheme of functioning of a control lamp of an all-wheel drive mode) — the car should be parked immediately in a safe place and to continue movement only after a lamp will go out.
The reason slow (about one gleam in two seconds) lamp blinkings during movement can be a considerable difference in diameters of lobbies and back wheels (see an illustration the Scheme of functioning of a control lamp of an all-wheel drive mode) — be switched in a 2WD mode and try to move not too quickly, at the first possibility change wheels.
Precautionary measures
- At operation of a control lamp in a continuous mode during movement or in a redkoprobleskovy mode after a stop the car should be driven away at the first possibility on car repair shop!
- Try to avoid switchings of a transfer case between provisions 4Н and 4LO at a burning control lamp of 4WD!
- Activation of a control lamp can mean that the car moves in a 2WD mode in spite of the fact that the 4WD switch is transferred to the situation AUTO or 4Н — observe extra care when driving. At refusal of some components of system inclusion of an all-wheel drive mode can be blocked!
- To operation of a control lamp can lead use of modes 4Н and 4LO at movement on a dry firm paving — if the AUTO mode or 4Н is activated, transfer the 4WD switch to situation 2WD; at the included 4LO mode movement should be stopped, transmission to transfer to the situation "N" and only then to be switched in a 2WD mode. If performance of the ordered actions does not lead to shutdown of a control lamp, the car should be driven away on car repair shop!
- Car operation at a control lamp of 4WD blinking in a chastoprobleskovy mode it is fraught with failure of a transfer case!
